First it was eye liners (thank you!) now it's finding a new bright lipstick. Do you have a favorite?
The one in this photo is MAC Show Orchid.
I asked the question on instagram and wrote down what was suggested:
* MAC Girl About Town * NARS Schiap (I have this one!) * Limecrime: Countessa Fluorescent * Obsessive Compulsive: Lip Tar * Revlon: Berry Haute * MAC: Full Fuchsia * MAC: Viva Glam * Nars: Lip Crayon
Anything else to add to this list? No reds. Only bright electric colors (hope I'm making sense). I'm doing a trip to the counters this week with your suggestions so let me know which one(s) to check out.
ps. Based on the >eye liner recs that you suggested Maybelline, L'oreal & Stila are your overall winners. I'm checking them out today/Friday.

DeleteOMG i've wanted to try the bright pink lip since spotting it on the models of the DVF show i think spring 2011. I think they used mac pigments and a mac lip pencil.

DeleteDefinitely MAC Girl About Town. I have it and I love it. We have similar skin tones, so I think you could wear it, too. I also wear Makeup Forever Rouge Artiste Intense in #40, which is a VERY vivid orange. I was afraid of it at first, but now I love it. And I know you said no reds, but have you tried Urban Decay's "F-Bomb?" You really should...
ReplyDeleteThe other thing I've learned about bright lipsticks: make sure to whiten your teeth before wearing them! I use Crest 3D Two Hour Whitestrips.

ReplyDeleteMAC 'Vegas Vault' is amazing! or Topshop 'Infared'!! Orange lips are totally my go to bright lip and go really well with our skin tones!
ReplyDeleteAlso try an orange blush- I'm thinking NARS 'Taj Mahal' and Sleek's 'Blush by 3 in Pumpkin'. They look a bit crazy at first but use a light hand and blend and it'll make you GLOW!

I love Mac Ruby Woo for red as well. But right now I'm really into Kat Von D's Outlaw color in the Everlasting Love Liquid line. I'm a sucker for reds! But I love that pink on you and the contrast with your coat.

ReplyDeleteI just bought Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Fierce. Its really bright but a good color to try. Sephora sells it for $22 which is a great price. Good Luck! :)

ReplyDeleteI realize I'm tardy in responding to this... but Sephora Rouge in Mr. Lover is my absolute favorite, it's the perfect fuchsia color and automatically makes me feel glam.
