Jumper: H&M mens. Sheer dress: Vintage. Creepers: Trash & Vaudeville (I have these + love these). Bag: Vintage + DIY studded (long time readers know it). Hat: ASOS (similar). Watch: Jaeger-LeCoultre
I found this dress at the Brooklyn flea a few weeks ago. Needs a slip. Layered a big mens jumper over it till I find the right one (instagram/twitter followers saw this look yesterday). Wore little cycle shorts under it + elvis creepers <-----so effin' love.
The oversized watch is by Jaeger-LeCoultre and feels masculine enough to feel like I borrowed it from the guys. If you fancy an early xmas pressie/feeling a bit lucky, you have till tomorrow to win one of these watches on the W's facebook page. Heck - doesn't hurt to try.
Right now I'm leaving in a bit to head to a vintage show in the city. Will let you know if it's any good and if I get lucky too.

WOW !

The dress is stunning!!! You know what I have been stealing from the guys? Vintage boots. I wear a 7.5 in men's (vintage) boots-- that is about a modern women's size 9. :)
ReplyDeleteOh trust me I do this too. When it's vintage most of my boots ARE mens.
DeleteThis is just incredible! amazing outfit.

I thought the dress was a bit too long but I think I like it - thank you
DeleteI. Am. OB. Sessed. With. This. Look. I can't even tell you how perfect it is! I love seeing all of the street style photos from recent fashion shows of women wearing sheer dresses and skirts with nothing underneath but some hotpants. But, realistically, 1. not everyone has a perfectly fit body like these women and 2. there is no way that you could pull off that look anywhere else in the country without getting ridiculed. The way that you were able to pull it off by still showing a lot of skin but balancing it with a thick men's knit and funky creepers brings it to a whole new level! You have inspired me yet again.
ReplyDeleteWow I am really glad you found this to be a wearable more relatable version for you!! Anyone can definitely do it and tweak it to suit themselves and their own shape : )
DeleteBTW I also work for H&M and am a crazy vintage enthusiast so I really admire you and your blog!
DeleteOMG I love those creepers!! very snazzy x
ReplyDeleteI like your pics :)
