Margiela x H&M: The collection up close

I stopped by H&M's office to take some photos of how the collection looks in real life.  I already saw it at the event on Tuesday but wanted to get shots without the crowds.

Note:  This post is pic heavy.


I tried this on last Tuesday. You can see the picture on my Instagram or twitter.  Not many could pull this off but I spotted a girl yesterday wearing it with skinnies, black creepers and ankle socks. She looked amazing. I regret not running through two lanes of traffic to get a photo!



Front and back of a stunning red dress.



Large open face watch pendant that can also be worn as a bangle.



This looks good wrapped around the wrist.



Oversized leather tote with a hidden front zip tucked behind the front fold.




This dress reminds me of two pieces in one. It also comes in blue.

Mens:

Classic camel coat with a hidden collar that you can pull out (yes, the same one Kanye West wore).




A good camel coat goes with everything.  If I was getting it, I would get the next size down although I dig the oversized look.



Multi strap 'asylum' jacket (that's my nickname for it)



I had my friend (and fellow Brit) Stephen try it on to see what he thought. This was his favourite piece along with the reversed denim jacket (see further below).  He has great personal style (he'll appear in a future street style photo) so it was insightful to get his take.



Classic high tops - we both liked these.




This would layer well over all black, red or navy.



Reversed denim jacket.  Good as is or as a layering piece under coats.



You know I love mens jumpers.  I could also see this in a blue/green/black combination too.  Perfect with leggings + ankle or knee high flat boots.




Note. This is not the entire collection.  It's just a selection that caught my eye.

My faves are the mens camel coat, the clear wedges, the mens jumper, the high tops and the reversed denim pieces.  Note:  When trying on the wedges both my girlfriend and I thought that they ran a little small.

The collection is released worldwide to the public on November 15th.
