Shorts: Levis at Urban Outfitters. Top: Thrifted. Wedges: Joe Fresh. Bag: Thrift (DIY studded). Bracelet: Gift. Socks: Topshop (similars)
I found this top rummaging around at Beacons Closet in Brooklyn (if you love vintage and haven't gone there yet - go). The sleeves looked a bit naff worn down so I roll them up. If you're unsure what to wear under a top like this, I wear a basic black tank like this one.
I still wear the whites of these wedges. The orange is for colour. Ok that really sounded like a weak excuse to have them in a different colour....either way they're getting worn. They are super bright which is perf for summer. I played that up with contrasting ankle socks (try these).
Random thought: Dye these wedges black in Autumn.....Yes? No?
ps. Surplus pic on facebook.

those shoes are adorable!

I think keep them orange, it will add a pop of colour to your autum wardrobe. And orange is meant to be hot for AW anyway.
ReplyDeleteGood point on the colour pop.

ReplyDeleteLove the top, love the wedges.
ReplyDeleteNever thought socks and sandals could work, let alone bright blue polka dotted socks and neon orange wedge sandals, but it's the perfect pop of color to your outfit and I'm obsessed! Don't dye the shoes black for fall!! They're awesome in their natural state of tangerine!
ReplyDeleteI really love this orange so I would say leave it this way :)

I love the relaxed look. The top looks great with the denim cutoffs, & the socks make it fun!
ReplyDeleteI've been wearing jean shorts myself & really like them.
I've been looking for a top similar to that. I found one but it wasn't quite right when I actually put it on :(
ReplyDeleteThose orange wedges are awesome btw. I think I saw that the last time you wore them.

I've been looking for a sweater like that all summer. You can mail it to me when you're done lol. No, leave the shoes orange. I think it's a great color for early Fall.
ReplyDeleteI love that top,you look great as always Karen:)
ReplyDeleteI really like the DIY bag and your ensemble. I would never be daring enough to wear the socks though.

I'll leave them for now then and see how it looks later
DeleteI live the pop of orange color! Short shorts always look great with a long sleeved top.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, you look gorgeous (those socks totally make the outfit). And secondly, how on earth did you balance sitting on those poles?!
ReplyDeleteYou can see another pole to the left of the pic. It's got a flat top so it's easy.
DeleteAhh - I love that you still use British words like 'naff'!!
