What’s with the rabbit?

rabbit ear iphone covers

I’m sure all of you have seen these on iPhones.   They are popping up everywhere like erm…. rabbits.

I think I first saw them during fashion week,  highlighted on street style sites in tight crop shots of the owners texting or making calls.  Since then, these bugs bunny ears are a recognizable staple all over the place.   My cover is pretty boring and bears a massive chip where it took the brunt for saving my iPhone during another oh-sh**-don’t-break fall.

I recently met up with Jenn from Le Fashion who wowed me with her new crystal like studded cover.  It sparkles like charcoal jewels and is one of the chicest versions I’ve seen (most studded versions look a little gaudy).  This didn’t.  However I’d be even more afraid if a blinged out protector fell to the floor from my clumsy fingers.

I sometimes carry teeny bags like this so getting anything with bunny ears or anything else attached wouldn’t work.  Note: I’ve seen fluffy tails sold with the ears.  No comment.

If anything, it reminds me that a cover upgrade is needed.  Sans ears.  Send recs my way please.

Anyone here a fan of these phone accessory trends?

Lol people always make fun of me and my no-fancy-case-having behind… but i don’t really care only because i just think that’s all too much! I feel like a phone should be just a phone, not a full in accessory

i got the back of my iphone replaced with a dark gold mirror and a dark gold bumper around the side to protect it. it’s really sturdy and i get compliments everywhere. but you need to go into a shop for them to screw it all onto your phone.

I think an iPhone cover is a cool way to merge your personal style with your technology. That said, it also has to be practical for me and be able to fit into all my bags (big and small). I have a sleek plastic case with pyramid studs on it from Etsy. It’s chic and easy to use. Here’s the shop where I got mine: http://www.etsy.com/shop/alicehelen01?ref=seller_info

    Enjoy!

I always look at them and have had to assume that there was some kind of technological reason for the bunny ears but I guess not…Shopbop has some great covers, studs and Warhol and so on. Mine is a pretty simple polka dot Kate Spade. Gets the job done 🙂

LOL! I’ve recently bought white bunny ears, I didn’t even know they were in fashion. Bought them from a pound shop in London:)

i’m pretty sure the trend came from Asia, I was in Hong Kong in the fall and my relatives had some covers that they got from Korea that made their phones look like bears (literally a bear face on the back with little ears at the corner.. not as bulky as the rabbit ears though) .. the rabbit ear ones were EVERYWHERE though.. they like their iphone accessories out there!

They were all over Hong Kong when I was there in October! I bought a couple for friends as gifts (I don’t have an iPhone myself or I’d have a mint colored one now). They are dirt cheap there ($6 or less). I think this is totally an Asian thing… they’re into the cutesy girly iPhone cases and toggles.

I love the simplest iphone case ever- a clear jelly protector, and I just print out and cut to shape images I love at that time to slot in the back that can be seen through the case. Keeps my phone safe from butterfingers me (i’ve made it bounce a few times! oops!) and I can change it easily when I get bored

Hey! I have seen those too! kinda odd…but still will get you a second look!

I would suggest buying a blank silicone thick case in the color you want then decorating it…aka DIYing your own. Then you can get exactly what you want and it will still have some good shock proof on it.

Otherwise, get an otterbox! then decorate that. Otterbox is amazing for iphones. you can throw it and it won’t break ( i haven’t tested this myself cuz I treat my phone like an infant child haha but I’ve seen it been tested)

I hope this helps! I’ll be working on my own DIY iPhone case over the summer so I’ll let ya know when I do that! 🙂
