When you hang on to the things you love...

Untitled

Just found these while tossing out old clothes and shoes in the basement.  I kept them for over 4 years because they were too pretty to let go.

It's a good thing that I did...

Shoes: Ninewest

You cannot click anywhere online or flick past a magazine contents page without seeing pastels.  It is EVERYWHERE. Retro 50's or sports luxe (see below blog post).  Nothing is off limits. It's (or rather we) are all fair game.

Since unearthing this pair and feeling really chuffed with myself,  I now have a bone to pick.

You know that style 'expert' that says chuck anything that you've not used beyond 1 year (or 2 or 3) well I would've given her a right slap. I wouldn't have these!  Don't get me wrong - for fear of death by clothes drowning,  I don't keep everything.

But do not tell me you've not had the 'look-what-I-found' moment.   You're randomly cleaning and accidentally find (insert forgotten item) and think "Thank GOD I KEPT THIS"

The feeling is identical to just buying something from a shop brand new. Except you didn't.  Course I would love to own the latest must have (must we?) and yea I sighed looking at this mint update - but until Yoox get's em for 70% off in 18 months -  I'm sticking to these new/old pastel finds.

Depending on who you ask: This is recycling.  It's shopping in your closet or it's just owning too much stuff.

I know I am not the only closet shopper..... (excuse the pun).

ps.  I have these shoes in black and white too.

  10. I always get rid of thing I haven't worn in awhile. I've only regretted it a few time but those few times have made me question my closet purging instincts...

  19. So cute!! Yes, I too have had one of those days where I'm just going through the closet and donating things I think I'll never wear again. I made the mistake of giving away my black and white tweed pumps and now... I am missing/regretting it. Glad you made the right decision!

  26. I'm all for saving your favorite things for as long as you want to. I "found" a box of my clothes that I didn't know were there and just yesterday went through it. I found some great things that I'd forgotten I had. What a happy feeling! I know exactly what you mean.

  27. Today, by coincidence, I wore my black leather with patent leather strap Ninewest-shoes-not-been-worn-since-4-years to an interview and it went pretty well. So hurray for keeping things and appreciate them for what they are after a few years!

Is there a style number written anywhere on your shoe? I'd like to see if I can find them somewhere used in my size as these would be absolutely stunningly perfect for an event that I have coming up (vow renewal). Thank you!

  50. I used to have these in black & white-- sold them, because they were way too small. So if yours happen to be an 8.5/9 and need a good home... well, let's just say letting go of them is one of my greatest shoe regrets.

  51. I HAD those shoes in my closet for about 4 years also and finally decided to give them away with some other items, since I only wore them twice.
Now that I see them again I am sorry that I gave them away, but I hope whoever got them will enjoy them!

  54. Hi there! My wife and I found these shoes (and this post) via Pinterest and WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. Where did you get them??? I know it was a while ago, but we are looking for some shoes of THAT EXACT SAME COLOR and STYLE for our wedding reception at the start of August. Would there be any possible way we could somehow borrow them (and take stellarly good care of them!) for that event???

I know this is a strange request, but these would be PERFECT, depending on the size, of course. Please let me know when you can, my email is bradhodson@gmail.com.

    Thank you!!!

  61. In Point Of Fact the discount rolex watches market for Fake Designer Handbags is really larger than the popular christmas gifts market for genuine branded bags. This is because the majority of cheap omega watches can simply not afford the mad costs at which genuine designer louis vuitton outlet online
are accessible at. A genuine Louis vuitton bag can cost you up to $800. Yet if you search the hermes birkin kelly handbags inventory of knock off handbags you will have the capacity to get one for less than $100. Now why would you like to cost $700 extra on obtaining a chanel bag online that you can take for much lesser?
