local treasure

knightcat Tumblr via Knightcat
So I'm here in London, darting all over the place and guess what? I FORGOT to bring a jacket. I'm staying in East London and found an Abbey Lee-esq hippy inspired coat for £10 (about $17?) at my local thrift shop. Needless to say, I wore it straight out the door.
Yesterday was Portobello Road market. Found some bargains: 1. Floor length 70's crochet/wool skirt. 2. Morrocan style turquoise stone and silver cuff. 3. A past season zara leather jacket Today was Spitalsfield market: 1. All Saints jumpsuit 2. Huge knit black cardigan with oversized hood. Ended each day at a local pub.
High street shops here don't interest me half as much as street markets do. Now I want to just relax and hang out the rest of the week.
Pics to follow v. soon!

lace arm flares

Fedora: Trash and Vaudeville. Bag: Foley and Corinna (vintage). Shoes: Topshop. Dress: Diane von Furstenberg. Gold/coral ring: YSL. White ring: New Orleans. Long bead necklace: Random NY shop
Wore this recently after scoring it at a consignment shop in the East Village. It's by DVF. No way I would've been able to afford it full price. Next time I'll wear it with loads of necklaces and flat thong leather sandals.
Everything else you know already.
As you can see on my feet: "Ta Dar" (Karen says hands out stretched). I got the brown shoes and ermmm the black ones are still with me too. There's another version just stocked here in a dusty pink colour too.

cheap luxury

Velvet sergent pepper trench: Thrift. Lace leggings & leather shorts: Forever 21. Boots: Zara. Sheer shirt: American Apparel Hat: H&M. Rings: YSL, Lucky.
Took these pics a couple of weeks ago-ish.
Apart from crochet, I've been loving anything velvet (well. Not anything but you get the point).
Black velvet flares would be killer.

on stylelikeu

I was honored to be interviewed on Stylelikeu.com - a website that looks at a diverse range of people's unique style. It allows you to leave comments on the person's videos too.

Run by Elisa Goodkind, (stylist and fashion editor) I frequent the site almost daily (Elisa's style alone is incredible).

ps. Excuse the massive clothes pile in the back that went to Goodwill later that day.

from wedges to warrior

Sandals: Random NY shop on Broadway in Soho. Toes: Turquoise & Caicos by Essie (Thx twitter followers for suggesting this mint shade!! Join in on my fashion twitter ramblings here)
Quick shots showing the other shoes I wore for this look.
Same outfit, just slightly different. I liked the idea of wrapping the ties over fabric so they stood out more and add some interest to the pants. If the ties were longer I'd have wrapped them even higher up the leg.

Winner of the UME Armor giveaway
The winner is G. Congratulations!
So many had sick outfit ideas and I narrowed it down to 3 of you for AGES. Her answer:
I would wear it under a cream see through top, something flowy and airy, and very elegant and feminine to contrast with the strength of the chains. Definitely pair it with a pair of light colored structured shorts and some nicely worn vintage boots. Can`t forget my hat
xxx
Have a good weekend everyone.

matchy matchy

Pants: H&M. Tank: Random shop. Beaded cardi: Thrift. Boots: Revolve. Bag: Alexander Wang Diego. Shades: Ray Ban. Hand piece: New Orleans. Coral/Gold ring: YSL. Pendant: H&M
Yes yes I know; the harems have become my uniform. I'm basically wearing them (semi) all the time. They'll get rotated out soon by something else to live in.
I remember posting this beaded cardi here worn one night at The Plaza, but I actually prefer wearing beads/sequins during the day (case you hadn't noticed).
FYI, I was wearing a completely different pair of shoes today but after Revolve sent me these Jeffrey Campbell wedges via a gift certificate, I flung them on immediately.
Bollocks to leopard overkill.
ps. Tomorrow I'll post the winner of the UME neck piece.

Black: Great year round. Works well dressed up at night. Goes with anything. Nice contrasts on my skin.
Brown: Perfect for summer. Vintage feel. Blends into my skin.
So which monster wood platform did I go with then?
ps. Armor neck piece giveaway ends tomorrow 8pm EST.
pps. FINALLY added more stuff in my SHOP. Will keep adding for a few days.

light fantastic

Jacket: Thrift. Harem trousers: H&M. Boots: Trash & Vaudeville. Sheer pocket T: Express. Triple amber ring: Dr Foots in New Orleans. Coral/gold ring: YSL. Large cross: Fashionology. Bird skull necklace: LF Mens Fedora: Trash & Vaudeville. Shades: Ray Ban
Felt a bit sparkly last weekend. The sun rays bounce off this jacket like no one's business. There were little disco ball dots following me everywhere (should've captured them in a pic).
When I wear these boots I think of Patricia Arquette in True Romance. LOVE that film and could so see her wearing them. Her candy coloured punk rock outfits were genius. If you've not seen it, rent it out.
ps. I'm reading the comments coming in for the UME piece giveaway by Armor. Keep them coming. I'll pick a winner on Thursday evening.
pps. Thank you to those who are joining me on Bloglovin' here. Means alot. K x

trash

Crochet top: thrift. Crochet flares: Beacons Closet. Cycling shorts (unseen): Random. Wedges: Urbanog. Bird skull necklace: LF. Hat: H&M. Love necklace: W hotel store. Cream ring: H&M. Coral stone ring: YSL. Black rings: Random shop
Found these crochet flares yesterday at Beacons Closet when dumping about 3 huge bags of clothes for sale. One mans trash.... That's what I thought when I saw the flares.
The platform wedges are from here (bought ankle boots from them last year and they've been fine considering the tiny price tags).
My dream wedge is a vintage wood monster platform in brown leather but since my feet are so damn big I'm making do with the platform look where I can get it instead.
Of course - I'm keeping my eyes peeled. Might get lucky one day.
