Old mardi gras beads hang from trees everywhere

One of the mansions on St Charles

Hallway of the B&B that we stayed at

Loved their old chandeliers. (God I hope I find one in a flea market one day)

We had to take this shot. A random side gate leading to a court yard.

In the French Quarter

Dress: GAP. Panama hat: New Orleans. Shoes: Moccasin. Bag: Vintage. Necklaces: LF/Foley & Corinna. Lips: MAC in So Chaud (I found an orange lippie finally). Large black ring: New Orleans street vendor. Snake ring: NY shop. White ring: New Orleans
Even though I've been back a few times, the old architecture still gets to me. It's stunning.
Last week I posted changing room shots here on twitter of me getting this dress on sale at GAP. As usual the side pockets sold it.
The hat was picked up while in New Orleans. This will be a semi permanent fixture on my head all summer. The oversized brim makes it feel a bit old school. Like I borrowed it from an Uncle or something.

gorgeous dress!

ReplyDeletewow such a beautiful incredible place- i love the dress and the bag is outstanding! The beads hanging from the trees are magic- remind me of a huge New Orleans party hosted by my work in Nashville when I started for the company! These necklaces were hung from lamposts and thrown from balconies complete with dancing sea creatures and exquisite cuisine- crazy. ( I kept all the beads and flew them home! ha!)

Glad you guys liked the shots. NOLA is a cool place and hopefully the pics captured a glimpse of it.
ReplyDeleteStudded Hearts - thx. My fave one by far.
Caylee - thx you. It's a great place.
Dee - thx I'll tell him you said that. Its the Nikon zoom lens: the 24-70. It's our next fave now. First fave was the 50 fixed but its shifted to this zoom one because its more flexible and still can achieve bokah (sp?). 50 gets more though blur though but in a fixed range. can't do wide angle.
Rachel - thx. I've been obssessed with hats for so long.
Bren - i did. I'm not there anymore. I came back to NY on Monday. Just posting pics now of the trip. There's so many.
Tiffany - thx for the tip and I will if I need help.
Koko - thanks a million.
Swank Heights - Def text me when you come up.
