Faux fur jacket: H&M. Pants: Zara. Boots: Chloe Doc Martens. Leggings under pants: American Apparel. T-shirt: Thrifted. Shades Ray Ban. Bag: LF. Nails: Urban OutfittersToday is Superbowl Sunday and I'm so clueless about American footie. The sports-like font on my thrifted T-shirt is my closet version to wearing sportswear to mark the occasion (regardless of what it actually reads).
I can see someone asking me tomorrow, "so did you catch the game?" and I'd reply with something similar to Eddie Murphy in Coming to America: "(Team X) triumphed by kicking an oblong ball made of pigskin through a giant "H".
The long john esq pants are from Zara bought per the below post. Still NOT quite what I'm after for a drop crotch pant but for $9 it'll do till I find something better. Any recs? Grey or black?
ps. Thank you Glossy magazine for the feature on me!! To see a preview of the entire magazine, which is SICK (and one of my fave online magazines), click here. You can download and buy the entire issue here for $2.70.
pps. Despite knowing nothing on sports, I hope The Saints win the Superbowl. New Orleans surely deserves it - of all cities.

love the sporty inspired outfit karen! I have the same coat...it's my baby--so warm and cozy :) I too am looking for a good drop crotch pant (preferably in waffle cotton)--so let me know if you find something good!

Did you go to Ohio State? I love the idea of repping your college in a very chic way. I watched an episode of "What Not to Wear" the other day (horrible show...) where they made the lady throw out her old college sweatshirts... I just thought that was so mean. Anyhow, if you didn't go to Ohio State, disregard this comment entirely! :)

How many times have I been lounging and called to go somewhere and WISHED i could just throw on some high heeled boots with my sweats and go.
ReplyDeleteHmmm thanks for showing me the way to make it work
Oh and how could you leave out the brand and shade of lipstick? Shame.
Fur and sweats, my kind of eccentric loveliness!!
ReplyDeletei grabbed the same bag from LF the other day. absolutely love their sale when it comes around!
ReplyDeleteThe lippie is by Snow Orchid byMAC. I put it on then thought it was too much so I wiped it off and it left behind this stain. The colour itself is a HOT pink fushcia.
ReplyDeleteJacqueline - yea, your not alone that's for sure ; )
Hautepursuit - Thx! such a great coat isn't it? I'll let you know re pants.
Clara - I'll need to make a trip to TS some time... thx.

ReplyDeleteI love your outfit! I think everyone should take this approach when dressing in sportswear. PS. Don't worry about not knowing Amer. Football, I'm American and I have no clue how it works!
ReplyDeletehey girl what size is your jacket?!! (and how tall are you?) thinking about ordering a similar one but don't know if i should go a size up? thanks!!

ReplyDeleteThe Heartbreak
Caylee - aww thanks. I can so see you in this.
ReplyDeleteAnon - lol yea I have zero understanding of the game.
Anon (last one) - The jacket is an 8. I got it oversized. It was also the last one left in that size area since the next one up was a 12 and way too big. I got this jkt a year ago.
haha this is the first time I've heard the term "footie."
ReplyDeleteLove your bag.
that faux fur coat is just fantastic. The last image on this post is my absolute favorite. The lighting, angle, expression, and lipstick. All amazing!
