So 2009 was the year that I finally got off my ass and started a blog. Thanks to each and every one of you for reading it and following me along the way.

Wide leg + drapey velvet = walking with schwing.

In the same way that we saw florals in summer used more exploratively, it's cool to also see velvet pieces now available in ways a little less expected.

We met up with a couple of friends yesterday and who told me NOT to check the weather? It was so mild, I ended up shedding half my bloody clothes. Jacket gone. Gloves gone. Leo scarf gone. Waist coat gone. Fedora gone.

Second time round in the Balenciaga heels and I have to say that they are walkable because of the huge platform to take away some of the heel height. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't sprint in them, but they aren't that bad. First time worn was last week at night (without a camera).

In my weird mind, these sort of remind me of space age Birkenstocks.

I can't say my lust for platforms to wear with skinnies and long dresses isn't now satisfied. The sandals have already been worn for a night out with a sequin mini dress (forgot camera that night).

Wow. Christmas really came around fast. After brunch at a diner, Michael and I went into the city to do some window shopping and see the tree at Rockafeller center.

As you can see, the snow is still piled up everywhere. I'm addicted to long dresses lately so I wore one of them with vintage Fryes. This is one of my favourite belts bought about 4 months ago ish? Need to wear it more...

I've lived in these boots. Wore them a ton during the summer too. Remember this post?

I LOVE metallic shoes.

I wore these boots a while back shortly after getting them. To me they are both old and new school rock chick. I posted the lovely Martin Jerez wearing his gold Dior ones here. Some of you saw me wearing metallic silver retro brogues here in the summer so it was only a matter of time before I'd transition to a boot.

So I'm covered. For now....

How could we not be in Central Park with Sir Oliver for the first major snow storm this year?

It really did look like a winter wonderland and we took some amazing shots.

No fashion/style post here. I had on tights under my jeans and winter boots that I've had for a good five years and there must have been ooooooo I'd say about 6 layers under that leather jacket?

The snow really started yesterday right about the time of the dinner ressies I made at Gordon Ramsey's restaurant at The London hotel. Typical. So might as well make the best of it and have a bit of a laugh when it started?

I wore a long black wool dress I bought a few weeks ago (thrifted), a cropped lace cardi over it (you can get it here) and my vintage Fryes bought yonks ago.

Every time I wear this faux fur coat I think of the assistant at H&M who said I shouldn't get it because it's too big. I'm so glad I kept it. The oversized feel was part of the attraction (that and paying $30). You've seen me in it before here.

ps. the food was delicious. The only complaint was the portions were very small :-/
