on tap

Sequin cardigan/blouse: Thrifted. Jeans: Previously owned by the boyfriend. Spectator brogues: Steve Madden. Tank: Forever 21
I call this the dripping jacket because I bought it with the sequins starting to fall off which is why I liked it. Not the falling sequins per se, but the exposed random meshed areas the sequins left behind.
Initially I thought it was a cardigan, but then I tried it on at the store the other way around and zipped it up at the back and it looked fine as a top too. So I don't know which way it's 'supposed' to be worn.
The first pics show it as the cardi, the rest as a top by itself. LOVE the little ruffled hem at the front when worn as a top.

LOVE HER!! Elizabeth Ammerman. The hair, the clothes, everything.
I'm determined to find an earring equivalent. Any suggestions?
Her Gareth Pugh boots....
Another favourite dresser. Beautiful face and jet black hair and kohl rimmed eyes.
Her Givenchy boots....
My stylist friend Tay Trong with Kate Lanphear, Elle Magazine Editor...
The zipper pull bracelet that he made and gave to her.... She LOVED IT!
Kate and me (Good God - I look like something the cat dragged in)...
Kate with the same woman from earlier...
The famous Christopher Kane gorilla print. Now available in a T shirt...
I can't get enough of stacked arm jewellery....
Shredded DIY Tshirt.....
Sonny Groo. Editor in Chief of Myrkomag....(a regular on Jak & Jill)
Me: American Apparel one shoulder dress. Emma Cook Boots. Alexander Wang Brenda Bag.
Sorry for not posting yesterday. After rushing home I had exactly 15 minutes to change, slap on make up (which slid off my face within hours anyway so why did I even bother), and head to the Soho Grand Hotel for a fashion industry event showcasing the latest collection for Rad by Rad Hourani.
The clothes felt similar to the overall direction so many designers are taking; deconstructed, industrial, androgynous, slashed features.
I was in full blogger mode, snapping pictures with the Nikon (I took the pictures this time for a change). I met up with my friend Tay Trong, a fashion stylist, who chatted with Kate Lanphear, the style icon Editor of Elle magazine herself. She looks even more stunning in person and is super sweet to talk to. Tay gave her his bracelet which she adored (when leaving she sought us out to personally repeat how much she loved it).
Rock it out Kate. It's screams you.

black and grey

Dress: Alexander Wang. Boots: Jeffrey Campbell for LF. Bag: DIY Forever 21 (cut off original short strap and replaced with long double chains). Jewellery: T&V, random African shop, street vendors, H&M.
This has to be the fastest dressing outfit. The dress is like one big oversized T. (I'm wearing shorts under it since it's semi sheer). The boots have an inside zip, so no lace fiddling.
Another Wang piece from their sample sale, I love the oval cut hemline, dropping down a bit at the back. I went back on their last day when they slashed the price on it low enough. When it gets a bit cooler, it's a doddle to layer it over skinnies.

before the rain came

DSC_0194.NEF DSC_0142.NEF DSC_0169.NEF DSC_0229.NEF DSC_0265.NEF DSC_0140 Dress: Thrifted. Beaded bag: Thrifted. Ankle boots: Trash & Vauderville. Jewellery: Random street vendors/H&M.
I was out a bit earlier today and thank God it was well before the heavens opened up. Major (said like Victoria Beckham) down pour.
The satin and sequin mini dress is thrifted. It's a bit worn here and there with threads and the odd sequin hanging off, but that makes me love it all the more.
Deliberately imperfectly perfect. Does that make sense?

I kept the hair up in a bun on route. Too humid otherwise...

Dress: Diane von furstenberg. Sandals: Jeffrey Campbell. (Found similar sandals). Bag: Vintage. Jewellery: Street vendor and T&V

The boyfriend decided to treat us to a posh dinner down town Manhattan.
I wore the Diane von Furstenberg dress purchased last year on clearance. I fell in love with it from the first time I saw it when crashing NY Fashion Week and I got to see it a few feet away from me on the runway. What sold me was the model had both hands in each side pocket. Hang on. It has pockets too? That was it, I had to find one.

red hot

DSC_0247.NEF DSC_0328.NEF DSC_0292.NEF DSC_0347.NEF DSC_0354.NEF DSC_0360.NEF DSC_0365.NEF Jumpsuit: Forever 21. Tank: Alexander Wang. Chuck Taylors: DIY studded. Bag: DIY studded (thrifted). Fedora: Street vendor. Jewellery: T&V and African trinket store.
I ended a hot and humid Friday afternoon at the local diner with the boyfriend. Not as glam really as lounging pool side. It was so damn hot today that I think the only make up left on my face was the red lipstick. (I'm going through a lipstick phase). Everything here you know already, except for the Wang tank purchased a couple of weeks back at their sample sale.

hard and soft

Dress: Thrift shop. DIY spiked jacket: Forever 21. DIY stud vest: Zara. Boots: Zara. Bag: Alexander Wang
Ditsy teeny floral print dresses. God I love them. I found this one at a thrift store (you see a shopping pattern?)
I ended up ditching the leather jacket and kept on the denim vest instead. Both items I DIY studded. I think the spiked jacket is still my fave. The boots you definitely know about by now.
ps. Regarding those kick a@@ boots below coming to me, LF and a few other stores are bringing them back for a limited time. Sam Ed caved to demand. Run. Don't walk.
**Call KAMIKA at the LF store in New York or ask her which LF's have them. **
