I had these slashed leggings on during the day with Fryes and a blazer but an impromptu 'let's go for a drink' statement had me swapping out the Fryes for something with a heel and my little sequin bolero jacket that I have to say, I am loving the more I wear it. It's like wearing a cropped leather jacket.

Per my twitters, the boyfriend and I headed for drinks at a roof bar that overlooks Manhattan and the 59th street bridge. Then we headed down town to Schillers on the Lower East Side where I had half of my dinner so I could make room to eat their infamous sticky toffee pudding served warm with melting ice-cream. T. D. As promised, better shots of the American Apparel LBD that I wore to a party a couple of weeks ago with the Emma Cook boots.

This is a fitted blazer with it this time, but I see it working with an oversized boyfriend blazer as well that falls just shy of the dress hem to keep it really casual.

I've been on an AA splurge lately so other purchases will get posted over the next coming days I'm sure. Happy Friday!

Jacket: Alexander McQueen. Jeans: DIY slashed. Heels: Bebe platform wedge (not seen) As mentioned before in one of my posts a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be part of the Look Book for the RACHEL Rachel Roy Fall/Winter 2009 campaign.

I cannot wait to see when this diffusion line is finally out in Macy's across the United States from August (there's a few cool rock chick pieces that I want). The Look Book, showing the entire collection, will also be at Macy's (plus select hotels) - eeeeek!!

twisting a staple

I spotted this blazer at a consignment shop. Being my arms are on the long side, I was first drawn to the ultra long skinny sleeves. Then I flipped it around and saw they had elbow slits!

A fan of McQueen's work for years now, I never thought that I'd ever actually own a piece. Especially a jacket to fling on over all sorts.

Took some shots at night for a change. I know I'm going to live in this denim vest.

For anyone who loved the Wang denim/leather jacket that's out, this is my poor man equivalent. Best part is that any denim vest of YOUR choice makes it unique to you only.

Usually I layer waistcoats over anything longer, but wearing it as a top itself is a nice change from a tank or T. Since this posting, I finished studding my bag all over. I REALLY want a black leather drawstring version, but this will do for now. (Anyone seen any please let me know).

Popped to the local diner for my once in a blue moon burger. Do you know I completely forgot that I had these boots? So like a kid that found a new toy, I immediately flung them on.

I'm already thinking of studding the straps, like the Isabel Marant's I can't find a version of. Or should I stick to the plan of finding a suede taupe/grey boot instead?

Source: Samantha West photography Since living in London and now in New York, I've been lucky enough to catch some really cool street styles and I often stop people wearing something I LOVE and ask the question that I sometimes get asked myself: "Where did you get that?" So I've decided to add a where-did-you-get-that profile to my blog. Every few days I will show a picture of someone I stopped wearing an item or items that I'm drooling over. Hope you like the idea? First up is this student/musician I stopped wearing this jacket from Bess. A downtown shop in NY known for it's incredible styling of clothing and shoes with intricate studding (see above Bess shots).

I would love to have this jacket in a shrunken fit version but it's already made me consider studding the cropped motorcycle jacket that I already own (to add to the other posted items I've studded thus far).

I posted this dress a few days ago. LOVE the narrow cut and floral print.

Toughened it with my cropped leather jacket and the All Saints. I'm embaressingly addicted to these boots. Will be forced to switch to alternatives as it gets hotter.
