Boot lovin'

Remember the fringed ankle boots posted further down under William Rast's 09 collection that I said I was two seconds away from ordering? Well they are here so thats how long my will power lasted. SUPER fast shipping. Ordered beginning of the week and arrived last night. I'll wear them in future posts with skinnies but for now, this is how I plan to 'transition' into Spring with them.

Pausing for the bling

I've been asked from time to time, where do I get my jewellery, so pics of all trinkets to follow very soon with a note of their origins. How I photograph it all will be challenging - to say the least.

Blazer: Zara, Faux Leather Pants: T&V, Sweater: H&M Men, Fedora: Thrifted. When I saw how cool studded Converse high tops looked from this amazing store that I visited recently, I knew I had to try it on my own immediately. Old gets new again.

Red wall revisited

I caved this week and tentatively bought two amazing jackets. I say tentative because one is being reviewed by a friend in London before its purchased. The other is lying on my bed as I speak/write. Pictures to follow over the next few days.

Baby its cold outside

I am so done with the cold still hanging on for dear life in NY. I have a insanely intense interest in oversized diamond like jewellery contrasted against the most casual of clothing. Its unexpected and it works. Nothing else required except a plain cuff. The significant ankle boot, the studded denim shorts and the essential weathered T shirt. The holy fashion trinity that provides the finish. Finding a similar necklace to the above is my current #1 mission. The bigger, the better. Bring on Spring already.

The rock chick feel was spot on and all the above can be replicated with similar pieces for a fraction of the price. Love love LOVED the various denim treatments in patch work, embroided black jet beading and two toned shading and zippers. The collection wasn't rocket science genius, but a welcome return to a feel and look that never dates. The cowboy ankle boots with swinging tassles are especially on my list. I found these similar ones and I am 2 seconds away from caving.

Burn out

Mad Max Shirt: T&V. Jeans: Zara: Boots: Emma Cook Just got this semi sheer top with random burn out holes all over. LOVE the stretch factor to pull it off shoulder. NY winter is slowly transitioning and this works well for now but I really look foward to mixing it up in a few weeks with just denim cut offs and boots.

Heck. I'll probably do that now but with wool tights.

Recently acquiring these Emma Cook ankle boots in my size (after a 5 month hunt on Ebay) was reason enough for an impromptu photo blitz with my friend Daria. Thank God we are not the same shoe size, or my Chloe boots she wore would have left with her back to Boston I bet ; -)

That Balenciaga jacket

I swear the fashion world audibly screeched to halt when this Balenciaga navy blazer with piping burst onto the scene. As demand out stripped waiting lists, a plethora of high street versions followed. One take on recreating the look for less $$. These particular jodpurs are the extreme, but thats why I love them.

Hats off to NY Fashion Week

I have to say, after attending the shows at NY Fashion Week on Tuesday evening, one accessory that I was so happy to see is the little top hat. I LOVE top hats (bowlers too).

For those less daring, the above two alternatives from Urban Outfitters would team well for winter. Very pretty but anchored in black for a darker feel.

Little black jacket

So that's my excuse if you bump into me wearing that jacket yet again. I love it so much, I just had to put it in my You Tube below. The Fedora is an old favourite from a thrift store.

Retail therapy for less

As a little girl growing up, I never forgot trips with my Mum to London street markets to dig up bargains. Whipping up fantastic outfits at a snip was the best high. Now in New York, that traite is in my blood and when its all said and done, scoring a deal is 10 x more gratifying than the expensive alternative. Enjoy!

Sunday blue

Its that weird in between Sunday weather. Its not cold. Its not warm. The best reason to wear anything comfortable for bumming around. The DMs were a steal at 70% off in Union Square. Why I never bought these when growing up in London is beyond me.

NY fashion week - on and off the catwalk

It's that time again. Barbie took center stage at the Bryant Park tent with gigantic displays to let you know who the ultimate Biyotch is in fashion.

Zara jacket, Forever 21 fur vest, Topshop Kate Moss jeans, Balenciaga I set off to the shows on Valentines Day staying pretty monochrome in black, grey and a shot of caramel. Not a spot of romantic red in sight.

My favourite piece from the Andy & Debb F/W 09 Collection. A belted mint ruffled mini dress - although I'm feeling that this look has been seen before.

LOVED this, right down to those boots.
